An exclusive event was held on March 23rd at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide the evening before the 2014 AusIMM Underground Operators’ Conference hosted by Business Sweden together with the Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) in South Australia and the Swedish Australian Mining Group (SAM Group). Opening remarks were held by Mr Jonas Lindholm, Market Unit Manager of Australia & Oceania, as well as Dr Paul Heithersay, Deputy Chief Executive of DMITRE.
DMITRE worked closely with Business Sweden to help make this event happen. Overall, it proved to be a much appreciated networking opportunity involving many new invaluable contacts between key decision makers as well as countless exchanged business cards.
Members of SAM Group that sponsored this event were ABB, Atlas Copco, Brokk, Sandvik, Scania and Xylem. SAM Group was established 2010 by Business Sweden a couple of years ago and consists of about 15 Swedish companies that are experts in their field with highly advanced technological mining solutions and a global presence. Together their brands form a powerful impression of Sweden’s mining expertise and experience in advanced product development. Being a part of SAM Group, opens up for valuable opportunities to expose their products and solutions that enable an increasingly efficient, safe, sustainable, and automated future for the Australian mining industry.
